Economics and statistics applied to the public sector

This 2nd year master level program offered by the Faculty of Economics at the University of Rennes 1 aims to train professionals specialized in the economic analysis of local and national public policies. The qualification creates an international network of professional and academic expertise and offers a joint degree in three partner universities (Tampere, Fribourg, Piemonte Orientale). 
 
Objectives

- Producing or supervising economic and statistical studies in the field of
public policies;

- Managing and promoting economic information;

- Knowledge of one additional language. The lectures are taught in English ;

- Knowledge of the econometric software R cran, the geographic software MapInfo and the survey software Sphinx.

Structure

The students register in one of the partner universities, which entitles them to spend one or two semesters in the other partner universities. The students are selected according to the following documents: a bachelor’s degree or equivalent studies in economics with a record of the marks you have achieved in the past academic years; a personal record (CV); a letter of motivation written in English. The prerequisites for the lectures are basic microeconomics and econometrics.
